The Sagolii Aldgoats
In sands are secrets kept
The Sagolii Aldgoats are a traditional seeker of the sun tribe, originally from the deep south sagolii desert. The tribe was founded in 2014 and has been ongoing since then. We have a varying activity level, but we persist and will occasionally roar into action. We are an 18+ Heavy RP group that operates out of Discord, with members from all sorts of FFXIV servers.
We have a Free Company along with a Medium house on Balmung, however membership of this is optional. There are two ways to join The Sagolii Aldgoats:
>> Through an existing character that opts to become a member. This character will have to prove itself.
>> Through a character that was a part of the past version of the Sagolii Aldgoats (Read the About section), who has been 'away' for some time. This character will also have to prove itself. We accept serious applicants who are proactive and willing to brainstorm & plan with us.

About
In sands beget, to sands return
The Sagolii Aldgoats were created by one man, N'sef, many years ago.
Scorned by the Aldgoats, he set out to form his own group of like-minded individuals. Eventually, he stood with a group that had bonds as strong as though they were family, the founders of the Sagolii Aldgoats. With a decade's worth of adventuring, and the myriad of spoils afforded from such, N'sef and his circle ventured out to carve themselves a portion from the world. N'sef, in his lingering resentment, wanted to establish his own tribe and have it eclipse the old one in order to prove just how strong he had become. And so it went that this primordial band of Aldgoat went from one upstart tribe to another, collecting their wealth and their numbers to swell their own. Diplomacy was the first and least effective means of adding to their own, violence soon to follow. The new tribe's antics soon became well known enough that smaller tribes would more often than not yield when the Sagolii Aldgoat came to claim them, wishing to mitigate their losses.Present Day
Today, the tribe is lead by N'khai and due to circumstances that most of the tribe does not speak loudly of, has a smaller size of approx thirty individuals with some members choosing to return in recent turns. The tribe, whilst still rooted in a morally grey mindset, has adapted to the modern day. They hold various properties, both shared between choice members of the tribe and held individually, scattered over the housing establishment zone of The Goblet near Ul'dah.
Each member does what they can to support the tribe, using their natural talents to their advantage, or trains to become stronger.

The Aldgoat Lore has been developed through the years through something called "Fact of the Day", started in 2019. Most are written by N'khai Nunh, however the whole tribe has contributed.
The Unofficial Tribe Colour is Red.#2
Kara is currently the best chef in the tribe and must have the title taken from her in a food duel if otherwise wishes to be proved.#8
Even though Sef was not the only male to father children during his time as Nunh, it was seen as a grave insult to imply that a child a male had claimed was not actually of their blood. Sef in particular was known to grow irate over any such rumors involving him.#23
Several years ago Khai bought the majority of stocks in a vineyard in La Noscea. Since then he's been able to help them get back on their feet (not at all utilizing Aldgoat agricultural techniques) which has led to them being fairly profitable. Money from business ventures such as that are kept in their own fund and distributed amongst other shops and vendors he thinks are interesting. This is how he manages to get such deep discounts on so many products.#32
In their prime, the Aldgoat's territorial grounds was wealthy in two primary resources. Most notably of the two were the underground springs that comprised the bulk of the tribe's water needs.A step behind the water were the crystal reserves equally far below the rock and sand of the Sagolii. It was not rare to hear a quip about how the crystals were rationed more strictly than their water ever was.#43
Aldgoat would need to secure secondary sources of water for any experimentation. Being able to extract moisture from the air was a valued magical talent for these reasons#43_C
Much of the Aldgoat's collective knowledge was lost when the tribal home was ransacked. What little there is exists in crumbling tomes preserved by N'khai. Idawa however has been spending much of the past few months transcribing the old text into fresh books, many of them are available for a tribe member to view upon request.#4
The original grounds of the Aldgoat, deep within the Sagolii, are no longer habitable. The entire area has been enshrouded by a thick cloud of aether, with jagged talons of crystal jutting up from the sands. This makes lengthy visits very uncomfortable. The source of the aether and the crystals is relatively unexplained.#21
Aldgoat Exploditician’s were well known for their desire to create the most potent fire-sand possible. It was not uncommon for the tribal grounds to be rocked by muted explosions every few weeks when a new ‘breakthrough’ had been discovered. Unfortunately the recipes for such compounds are one of the lost bits of knowledge. Truly a great loss.#39
Hunting filled the bulk of the tribe's food requirements, as would be expected. A selection of Aldgoat had managed to create stable 'greenhouses' to supply some of the tribes need for fruit and vegetables though it was known to be a fickle process due to aetherial temperament of the Sagolii. Trade and "borrowing" filled what could not be made/gathered by the Aldgoat.

Diamond Dusters were one of the classic Aldgoat handheld weapons. A simple ceramic pot stuffed with sand and a humble cocktail of alchemical, and aether reactive substances. On impact the inner chamber would break and mix, creating a violent reaction that when it detonated outwards would turn the sand to glass, tossing the jagged shards out in all directions. Different seasoning could be added to the weapon in order to change the properties of the glass created, encouraging it form as more nefarious spears or more harmless pellets, and handful of other esoteric variations. Aethero-alchemical Science sure is fun.#52
Sand-Shaping:
A popular form of aether control training for younger Aldgoats involved an activity called sand shaping. Exercising control exclusively over wind and earth aspected aether, young Aldgoat would be encouraged to build intricate structures out of sand. Castles, spires, towers, forts. Youths often found themselves seeing who could raise the thickest walls, or the most bizarrely shaped towers...and often after that they would soon destroy them in the ensuing arguments and play fighting that would would proceed no clear winner being declared.#15
Within the old tribe there was an annual tournament wherein Aldgoat who had earned their masks in the previous year would compete against one another in combat. The winner of each tournament was given special privileges within the tribe tailored to their own whims and wants.#28
Starlight decorations tend to stay up in the Aldgoat House long after it is reasonably expected to see them. Spring can be just around the corner and a person could trip over tinsel. As such Khai has been disallowed from putting anything up until the Eorzean equivalent of December 1st.#53
N’khai is not naturally skilled in summoning multiple types of ninjutsu mediums. The ones used for the Trial of the Mask are ones that work on commission. Their summoning scrolls are exorbeneit to craft and the mediums summoned expect to be tipped for their time assisting the summoner. The Aldgoat have been uses these services for decades now, and as such have netted themselves a respectful 2% discount in service fees.#16
The first mask ceremony of the new tribe involved a group effort in hunting down a giant sandworm. It was rumored that its gut was filled with treasure, swallowed up when it ate travellers. Naturally the treasure was a simple bonus on top of Khai getting to see how the tribe had grown.#29
During Starlight there are two distinct bowls of eggnog available at any given time. One with Normal Mugs and the other having Aldgoat Shaped Mugs. The kids are forbidden from drinking from the one with normal mugs, seemingly being repelled from touching its mugs or the bowl itself when their hands get within an ilm or so. Straws that can be easily connected are also nowhere to be seen around the holidays, oddly enough.#53
Sweets weren't exactly plentiful, truly a treat and not an every day thing, ice cream was an exotic wonder. Many culinarians within the tribe tried to figure out an efficient way to preserve it in the Sagolii heat and all came up short.#1
Peppers were a common favorite within the Aldgoat tribe, and used to make many dishes. It was a hotly debated topic whether or not people truly enjoyed the insanely spicy varieties, or they had simply begun a perpetual cycle of humble bragging about how spicy a dish they could handle. Most people were content with milder pepper selections#18
Sef had a bad experience with shellfish in his adventuring days and as a result they were banned from the tribe, not that they were easy to come by in the Sagolii anyway.#3
Like much the modern world, coffee and tea were the lifeblood of the Sagolii Aldgoat late nights and early mornings that both required energy and focus made caffeinated drinks highly sought after.#24
The Feast-ivalOne of the most scared, and hallowed weekends of the entire calendar. Two days and Three Nights of raw, caloric carnage. Days leading up to the event saw most tribal work put to the back burner so members could travel far and wide, slaying exotic monsters and stealing away mysterious spices. All the so the culinarian of the Aldgoat could put the might of all their power on full display. N’sef, of course, had the first sample of all the choicest dishes and would name the most skilled chef as his personal cook for the remainder of the year. An honorable, and lucrative, position.Even with N’sef taking a lion’s share of the food no mortal could eat all of what was on offer by themselves. Every Aldgoat in attendance would leave satisfied if not incredibly nauseated from overeating.

The Gridanian Wood Wailers do not seem overly fond of any Aldgoat they come across. Miqo'te that don't share their physical characteristics can get by more easily until the Lancers in question learn what tribe they belong to, at that point they are treated with as much tension and suspicion as the rest.#47
The training dummy in the front yard is outfitted with the means to take logs of people who use it, though this has never been openly admitted. It can record things such as time in use, number of times struck, ponze of force exerted, elements of aether struck with, and a myriad of other points of data. Why? Who knows.#50
A sentient vine has been added to the Aldgoat Home's Green Room. It is relatively harmless. Its only signs of life are a small amount of wriggling to burrow into fresher samples of soil or to get into stronger patches of light, depending on its mood of course.#48
Text
The entire tribe has a Family Season Pass for the Masked Carnivale, and is why the attraction has had to change their definition of what a 'family' is.#33
The cleaning solvent most commonly found in the house is a gooey green paste. The substance evaporates when left out of its container after several seconds, leaving whatever it was smeared on clean as the day was made.

Legend has it that the aldgoat house is haunted by the ghost of a little Seeker girl who was tragically killed in the house many years ago, in an accident where a heavy painting fell down and hit her neck. Now and again the paintings in the Aldgoat house falls down without cause, and on certain quiet nights there is the sound of a little girl playing followed by a scream.
~#44
The blue chocobo stabled in front of the house is named Bauble. They have a fetish for shiny objects and will attempt to peak at/steal any bit of shiny, metallic material on a person's clothing or accessories. A very sweet bird all things considered, just a blatant thief. They have a small treasure hoard underneath their nesting material that is reclaimed every time the stable is cleaned, its contents redistributed to the victims.#34
While it may seem unguarded, the treasure pile in the Aldgoat basement is actually guarded by a small node that burst from the gold chest upon someone entering the small room. It speaks in a feminine, Garlean voice. It usually just states the intruder's name and asks how much gil they will be taking that day. On occasion it uses a longer name with a stupid title, or uses an equally stupid sounding nickname. There is no rhyme or reason to this glitch. Despite any efforts to organize the treasure the node will always make a mess in his emerging and hiding.#41
The Aldgoat equivalent of the Boogeyman was called the Sand Sultan, loosely based on word of mouth stories derived from Sil'dih. It was said bad little children were taken into the Sultan's realm, forced to march in his evil army and work on his shadowy underground palace. March and work, march and work. No food, no water. Withering away until they were nothing more than walking Miqo'Skeletons#45
